The primary responsibility of this role is to design and engineer resilient enterprise Data Platforms both on-prem and in a multi-cloud hybrid environment guided by the principles of a well-architected framework.

This is an Individual Contributor role that requires working with cross-functional teams across the company to ensure the platforms are built for adoption with high standards of performance and scalability while optimizing the cost and using emerging technologies in the Data universe.

The person in this role will support the Data Engineering and Services team's objective to architect and engineer highly resilient and available data platforms in a multi-cloud hybrid environment globally.

What You'll Be Doing

Mongo DB/Vector DB DBA will be responsible for designing, implementing, security and optimizing MongoDB infrastructure to ensure high availability, resiliency, scalability, and performance. Responsibilities include following but not limited to -

  • Design, deploy, and manage MongoDB and vector databases for small/large-scale applications, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
  • Work with development teams to understand application requirements and provide guidance on data modeling and database design.
  • Implement and maintain MongoDB clusters including replica sets and sharded clusters, ensuring data distribution and fault tolerance also Implement and maintain vector databases.
  • Perform regular database performance tuning and optimization to maximize query efficiency and reduce response time.
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, including performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and replication problems.
  • Developing/setting alerts, observability for MongoDb & vector databases
  • Implement and manage database security measures, including Roles/Privileges, authentication, authorization, and encryption, to protect sensitive data.
  • Collaborate with system administrators to ensure adequate hardware resources and infrastructure for various database deployments.
  • Stay up to date with the latest MongoDB/Vector DB features, releases, and best practices, and evaluate their applicability to the organization's database environment.
  • Document database configurations, procedures steps to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Provide guidance and support to development teams on MongoDB-related matters, including data access patterns and query optimization.
  • The role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure, ensuring efficient handling of complex relationships and vectors.
  • Design and implement vector databases to efficiently store and retrieve high-dimensional vectors.
  • Optimize database queries, indexing strategies for vector operations.
  • Collaborate with application developers to integrate vector databases and knowledge graphs into various software solutions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in and IT or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience designing business solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • 10+ years Progressive years of experience in database technologies.
  • 5+ years Extensive experience with Mongo Db Atlas and Vector database technologies
  • 5+ years' Experience with cloud databases and cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure).
  • Strong command of SQL, PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting skills.
  • Strong experience in SQL tools such as TOAD, SQL Developer, PGADMIN, Mongo CLI, Mongo DB Compass etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.
  • Understanding relational and dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience in database migrations, upgrades.
  • An ideal candidate should have experience in modern ways of designing, building, optimizing and deployment of database workloads in public cloud, preferably Mongo Db Atlas and Vector database technologies.
  • Should be experienced in schema design and data modeling.
  • Should be a driver in determining, implementing, and continuously improving the architecture and the security aspect throughout the systems, tools and workflows.
  • Always striving for automation with distinctly unique mindset for optimization of database infrastructure working with an international (onsite and offshore) team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to the management.
  • Mongo DB/Vector DB /AWS/Azure cloud certifications.
  • Experience with database technologies (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Aurora, MYSQL, Snowflake & DocumentDB & Vector DBs).

  • Master's degree in an IT or related field
  • MongoDb/Cloud Architecture certifications
  • Experience with SOX/SOC1/SOC2 and other Compliance Audits
  • Knowledge of SAS model
  • VPC Pairing, Private/Public Links, network connectivity & security
  • SSO/SAML integration
